Chocolate Flaxseed and Chia Seed Pudding
Breakfast doesn’t have to be a burden. Chocolate flaxseed and chia pudding is a super nutritious and delicious make ahead breakfast that takes just two minutes to put together.
Chia seeds are nutrient dense, rich in fibre, omega-3 fats, protein, vitamins and minerals, and pack a punch of energy boosting power. Flax seeds, another popular superfood, are high in antioxidants, high in omega-3 fatty acids and are thought to help improve digestion, give clear skin, lower cholesterol, reduce sugar cravings, balance hormones, fight cancer and promote weight loss.
Ingredients we need:
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your favourite milk)
2 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. flaxseed
1 tbsp. honey (or your favourite sweetener)
1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp. Hemp powder (Optional – Hemp is an excellent source of natural organic protein, essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6)
1 tbsp. Mecca powder (Optional – Mecca powder has a positive effect on hormone balance, energy levels, and a health booster)
Combine all ingredients in a wide mouth mason jar and stir well. Refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours and up to 5 days. Enjoy with your favourite toppings. I usually add Banana, Strawberry, Almonds and Walnuts.
