Active Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines discount codes, vouchers and promotions for May 2018
Founded in 1848 by three Olsen brothers, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has nearly 170 years experience under it’s belt and is currently spearheaded by Fred Olsen Jnr., the fifth generation of Fred Olsen to be chairman. Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines believe that bigger doesn’t mean better. They’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. They take immense pride in their smaller-scale vessels which have oodles of style, ambiance and quality.
From the warm waters of Africa through to the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords, Fred. Olsen sails to some of the most revered destinations in the world. With sailings from some of the UK’s largest ports, including Southampton, Dover and Liverpool, there’s never been a better time to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime cruise experience and see the world like never before.
With ships smaller in size, but equally big in style, than some of the other major cruise lines Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines put their focus where it matters, offering unrivalled experiences at competitive rates. To help you get the very best deal with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, we’ve put some of our top tips below.
If you’re in a rush to book something quick, or you just want to escape as soon as possible, head for Fred. Olsen’s last minute deals page. The page automatically filters all of their cruises to show only those departing in the next eight weeks. With departure dates approaching, Fred Olsen will want to make sure no cabin goes vacant and will drop prices accordingly. You might not be able to head to the exact destination you had in mind but being flexible means you can grab a cruise for only a fraction of the normal price.
Fred. Olsen offers two types of fares, Anchor Fares and Freedom Fares. Freedom fares offer guests the best choice and flexibility with their cruise booking, with your choice in restaurant dining times, the exact room you want and priority for room upgrades. If you change your mind on the cruise you can also get a refund (minus a deposit, which depends on the time left to departure) or change your booking onto another cruise. With Anchor Fares, your room is allocated on arrival and the booking is non-refundable and non-transferrable, but you can typically save up to 60% when compared with the cost of the Freedom Fare. It’s definitely worth it if you’re not too fussy about which room you stay in on the ship, and you still, of course, see all the destinations and wonders everyone else see’s.
When you go to make your booking, try to make sure you have a debit card available to make the payment. Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines charge a 1.5% surcharge for using a credit card to book, which can be quite significant when booking on some of the longer more expensive cruises. There is no fee for paying with a debit card so try to arrange to use one of those if possible.
